Your rights as a consumer

You have the right to expect that the products you use are safe. If you have suffered loss, damage or injury because of an unsafe or faulty product, you may be able to make a claim of for compensation.

It has jurisdiction to entertain complaints where the value of goods/services complained against and the compensation, if any claimed, does not exceed Rs 20,00,000 (Indian Rupees Twenty Lakhs Only).

State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission.

It has jurisdiction to entertain complaints where the value of goods/services complained against and the compensation, if any claimed, exceeds Rs 20,00,000 (Indian Rupees Twenty Lakhs Only ) but less than Rs 10,000,000 (Indian Rupees One Crore Only).

National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission.

It has jurisdiction to entertain complaints where the value of goods/services complained against and the compensation, if any claimed, exceeds Rs 10,000,000 (Indian Rupees One Crore Only).
